Fibres Dosing Equipment

The proposed fiber dosing machine is a cylindrical container with a spirally shaped feeder coil inside. The container is mounted on a rigid framework with 2 vibrators attached to it. The fiber dosers are mounted on load cells and therefore the negative weighing method is used for dosing the fibres either by an independent instrument or by the plant’s batching automation when the dosers are integrated in it.

The doser is filled with fibres (synthetic or steel) from paper bags, boxes or big-bags. The desired batch, in kg, is set on a weighing instrument or in the mixing computer. The fibres are fed directly into the mixer, on to the aggregates belt, into the skip or even in the weighing bins. The capacity in kg/min varies depending on type of fibre as well as fibre level in the doser. The doser capacity in kg, varies also depending on the type of fibre. The dosers are suitable for dosing any loose micro or macro synthetic fibres with maximum length of 30 mm or macro synthetic fibres in “pucks”. The dosers can also be used for most common steelfibres.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The vibration of the container at a certain frequency drives the fibers inside it and forces them to move through the spirally shaped coil from the bottom to the top. As they reach the top, they are pushed to the exit and emptied to the point of discharge.

The desired batch weight is achieved by negative weighing method. For this purpose, an autonomous weighing instrument is provided where the user presets the desired amount (weight) to be dosed at a time and the instrument does everything automatically. But the best method is to connect the doser to the plant’s mixing automation and to fully control it through it.

The dosing accuracy, depending on the model, the fibre type and the maximum flow rate, ranges from ± 0.5 to 2.0%.

INSTALLATION AND START-UP

The units are delivered ready for a quick installation and instant connection. They are supplied with three-phase current and all electrical connections are made to the integrated junction box. Installation on concrete slabs or in steel constructions with a counterweight. Weather and wind protection is necessary for synthetic fibres!
