WHEN GREAT MEASUREMENT ACCURACY IS REQUIRED

Preventing downtimes means a lot for Ready Mix concrete companies. Monitoring the inventory of the materials is essential. Especially on cement where the quantity left on silos is not easy to monitor as it is for aggregates.

There are several old and traditional methods to identify the quantity remaining. However, there are modern methods for silo's weighing. PROTEM has designed and offers a load cells based solution, which can be installed in existing and new cement silos.

The most important part of the entire installation are the weighing bases upon which the silo will be placed. These bases must be designed in such a way that the maximum security against earthquakes and strong winds is provided, without affecting the precision.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

For the installation of the weighing modules in an existing silos, the silo must be raised by a crane and after that the modules have to be fixed on the exact same spots on which the legs were located. Finally the silo must be placed above these modules and be secured using screws and nuts.
The total height of the modules is 240mm.
In order to achieve maximum accuracy, the screw conveyors connecting the silo with the cement scale and the silo’s filling pipe must not be anchored at fixed points except the silo.
25t load cells are used for silo with a capacity of 50 or 75t, while 40t load cells are used for silo with a capacity of 100 or 125t.
The total error is less than ± 0,2 % which practically refers to an error of less than ± 200 Kg for a 100t capacity silo.

Protection against labor accidents, commonly caused by the abnormal measurement methods such as using a sledgehammer, slingers and other imaginative tools.
Your silo will not be overloaded, thus preventing environmental pollution and unnecessary expenses.
If you already have dedusting filters installed on your silo (as required by the legislation), you will be able to take advantage of the maximum silo capacity without having to worry about destroying the filter cartridges every time the silo is slightly overloaded.
Cement receipt control without the use of a weighbridge.
You will be able to safely distribute a cement truck load to two or more silos whenever you wish to increase your cement stock as much as possible.

WEIGHING INDICATOR

The PROTEM CTZ-52 Smart Weighing Indicator is a cost effective solution for Silo Weighing applications. Small in size (96x96 mm), it can be easily mounted on any industrial control panel or electrical board front door.
It is equipped with 5 programmable outputs that allow you to set upper and lower limits and automatically activate sirens and indicator lights without any extra equipment.
CTZ-52 is also equipped with a RS485 communication port that enables you to supervise the silos’ weight from a PC, a tablet or a mobile phone and schedule refilling on time.
